Pop, pip

It's been a minute since I've read My Side of the Mountain, but the earthworm moment stays with me.

erasing the outline of your being

A couple pages from There is No Right Way to Meditate by Yumi Sakugawa:

I am usually erasing the outline of my being while I embroider or play tennis.  Occasionally while I sit still...But I'm a work in progress.

I practice this, but sometimes spit flies out due to the grievance being all pointy with rage.

caw-caw-phony

This is very much my dad's sense of humor here.  I love crows, even their brash noises.  I often see three crows in my front yard and they mimic squirrels so well I'm always surprised to see the crows instead.  I don't know if they're sassing the squirrels, making fun of them, or have been hanging out with them too much, but it's always delightful.
